Real transmissions from our warehouse, code-matched and ready to ship. Our Honda & Acura inventory spans every major gearbox type used in the U.S. market — 4/5/6/7/9-speed automatics, the CVT family, DCT, and enthusiast-favourite 5/6-speed manuals.
Why Buy a Used Honda Transmission from Auto Power Source
Honda's reputation for transmission longevity is well-earned — the brand's 5-speed automatics and B-series manuals routinely cross 200,000 miles on nothing more than fluid changes, and Acura's 6-speed manuals are still the benchmark by which enthusiasts judge short-throw feel. But the lineup is also one of the most code-sensitive in the industry — the 5-speed automatics alone include BYBA, BAYA, MGHA, MDPA, MAYA and B7XA and they are NOT interchangeable. Our 500+ verified Honda & Acura transmissions span every major gearbox family across model years from 1994 through present.
Every Honda & Acura transmission we sell has been pulled from a low-mileage donor vehicle, cataloged by the transmission code stamped on the case, and held in our climate-controlled warehouse pending sale. Each unit went through our six-step inspection — VIN-matching, ASE testing, Shift-Tested through every gear under load, full visual inspection, multi-angle photography, and palletized shipping. Our ASE-certified technicians do the testing; rejected units never reach the buyer. CVTs additionally receive a fluid colour check and belt/pulley inspection; 2003-2009 V6 automatics are checked for the documented torque-converter shudder issue.
You pay a fraction of dealer-new pricing for identical Honda engineering, ship free on a heavy-duty pallet anywhere in the continental U.S., and get 30 days from delivery to return for any reason — no restocking fees. Up to a 3-year warranty covers you if anything goes wrong after install. Across 100,000+ engines and transmissions shipped, we hold a 0% fitment-related return rate.

Honda Transmission Buying Guide
Five things to verify before buying a used Honda or Acura transmission:
Match by the transmission code stamped on the case, not just year/model. Honda codes (BYBA, BVGA, MGPA, SLYA, etc.) appear on a metal tag pressed into the bell housing. The code confirms the exact ratio set, gear count, and TCM compatibility — two transmissions for the same year Accord can be entirely different units depending on engine (4-cyl vs V6) and trim.
For CVT units, demand fluid condition and belt-wear documentation. Honda's CVT is sensitive to degraded ATF — our inspection includes a fluid colour check, belt and pulley inspection, and a Shift-Test under load before any CVT unit ships.
Confirm FWD vs. AWD for CR-V, Pilot, and Acura MDX. These platforms come in both FWD and AWD configurations, and the transfer case and rear output differ. Always specify drivetrain at order.
For 2003-2009 Odyssey, Pilot and Acura V6 automatics, ask about torque-converter shudder. Honda's earlier V6 automatics had documented torque-converter lock-up issues on high-mileage donors. We test for this specifically and flag any affected units before they ship.
Plan on Honda DW-1 (or HCF-2 for CVT) fluid at install. Honda automatics require Honda-spec ATF — running a generic universal will cause shift issues and void warranty. CVTs require HCF-2 specifically.
Our ASE-certified technicians verify every one of these points against your VIN before any transmission ships.
