Why Buy a 2021 Honda Transmission from Auto Power Source
Honda stopped using one transmission per model long before 2021, and 2021 is where the split is widest. A 2021 Accord can leave the factory with a belt CVT behind the 1.5L turbo, a 10-speed planetary automatic behind the 2.0L turbo, or a two-motor hybrid drive unit with neither a belt nor a conventional gearset — three different machines under one nameplate, in one model year. The CR-V does the same thing on a smaller scale: belt CVT on the 1.5L turbo, two-motor hybrid on the 2.0L. Ordering by year and model alone is how people end up with a unit that bolts up and still will not drive.
Most 2021 Honda listings carry no case code at all — the yards describe them by trim, drive and engine, which is honest but leaves the last step to the VIN. We do not guess at that step. Every row here is named the way the listing names it: listed AT or listed MT, FWD or AWD, the displacement, and the VIN digit where the title gives one. When a code exists we quote it; when it does not, your VIN settles it and we put the answer in writing before you pay a cent.
Three of this year's 22 rows carry a model name in the title that is not a Honda at all, with Civic running gear in the specification underneath. They are genuine stock and we list them rather than hide them, but we will not ship one on the strength of the title. Send the VIN and we tell you exactly which unit that row is.
Every unit is shift-tested through all gears under load before it leaves the warehouse, photographed from multiple angles, and sent to you for approval. If the photos are not what you expected, you have not bought anything. Free freight to all 50 states, 30-day money-back, and the warranty is included rather than sold to you as an extra.

2021 Honda Transmission Buying Guide
5 things to verify before buying a used 2021 Honda transmission:
-
Settle CVT versus planetary versus hybrid first. On a 2021 Accord or CR-V the engine decides the transmission, and the three types share no internals. Know which one your car has before you start comparing prices.
-
Match the drive line. Pilot, Passport, Ridgeline, HR-V and CR-V all run FWD and AWD versions in 2021 and the output sections differ. A FWD unit will not serve an AWD vehicle.
-
Check the speed count on the planetary units. Pilot, Passport and Ridgeline run a 9-speed in 2021; Odyssey and the Accord 2.0T run a 10-speed. Both are automatics behind a Honda V6 or turbo four, and they are not the same transmission.
-
Treat the hybrid drive units as their own part. The Accord Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid, Insight and Clarity use electrically coupled two-motor units. They are not CVTs in the belt sense and they do not cross between models.
-
Confirm the match with your own VIN before you order. Your VIN settles the transmission code, drivetrain and build split in one step. Text it to +1-307-441-5554 and we will confirm in writing exactly which unit fits your vehicle before you pay.
Our ASE-certified technicians verify every one of these points against your VIN before any unit ships.
