Lexus Transmissions We Source
Every Lexus transmission we deliver is Aisin-engineered — the same OEM that supplies Toyota's flagship applications. We source directly from a vetted network of PRP suppliers and low-mileage donor yards across North America. Text us your VIN and we will match you to the right Aisin variant, verify it, and ship it.

Why Buy a Used Lexus Transmission from Auto Power Source
Every Lexus transmission is Aisin — the same OEM that engineers transmissions for Toyota flagships and supplies BMW, VW, and Volvo. That single-supplier reality is the good news: the engineering is world-class, the parts are documented, and the failure modes are well-understood. It is also the challenge: because Aisin sells the same physical case to multiple automakers, and because Lexus and Toyota often share the exact donor chassis (LX470 = Land Cruiser, GX470 = 4Runner, LX570 = Tundra), TCM calibration and control module part numbers matter more than they might appear. A case-identical Aisin from a Toyota Tundra will NOT drop cleanly into a Lexus LX570 without matching the Lexus-specific calibration, and hybrid eCVT units cannot be installed to non-hybrid vehicles at all.
Auto Power Source has spent over a decade building supplier relationships specifically for Toyota/Lexus/Scion sourcing. When you text us your VIN, we work through our PRP-certified partner network to locate the correct Aisin variant — matched to your emissions calibration, drivetrain (FWD transaxle vs longitudinal RWD vs 4WD), and Lexus-specific control unit. Every candidate transmission goes through our six-step inspection — VIN-matching, ASE Shift-Testing through every gear under load, noise & smoke verification, full visual inspection, multi-angle photography sent to you for approval, and palletized shipping. Rejected units never reach the buyer.
You pay a fraction of dealer-new pricing for identical Lexus engineering, ship free on a heavy-duty pallet anywhere in the continental U.S., and get 30 days from delivery to return for any reason — no restocking fees. Up to a 3-year warranty covers you if anything goes wrong after install. Across 100,000+ engines and transmissions shipped, we hold a 0% fitment-related return rate.
Your Lexus Transmission Options: Compared
Most Lexus owners face four real choices when their transmission fails:
| Option | Cost | Reliability | Warranty | Fitment Match |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Used OEM (this collection) | $$$ Best Value | High | Up to 3 years | VIN-matched |
| New OEM (dealer) | $$$$$ 2-4× more | High | Manufacturer | Exact |
| Rebuilt / Reman | $$$$ | Varies | 6-12 mo | May adapt |
| Junkyard | $ Cheapest | Unknown | None | DIY |
Tested used OEM hits the sweet spot — same engineering as new, fraction of the cost.
Lexus Transmission Buying Guide
Lexus's transmission catalog is entirely Aisin, sharing physical hardware with Toyota, Scion, and select BMW/VW applications — but Lexus-specific calibration means case-identical does not mean interchangeable. Five things to verify before buying a used Lexus transmission:
- All Lexus transmissions are Aisin, but Aisin-to-Toyota is NOT the same as Aisin-to-Lexus. The AB60E/F (LX570), A750E/F (GX/LX470), and other longitudinal units share cases with the Toyota Tundra, 4Runner, and Land Cruiser respectively. The physical unit looks and mounts identically — but the TCM calibration, shift map, and control module part number are Lexus-specific. Never source a case-identical Aisin from a Toyota donor without confirming the Lexus calibration.
- FWD transaxle vs longitudinal RWD are entirely different families. The U660E, TL-80SN, U151E, and hybrid eCVT are transverse FWD/AWD transaxles for the RX/ES/NX/UX platforms. The A960E, A760E, A761E, AA80E, and AB60E are longitudinal RWD/4WD for the IS/GS/LS/LX/RC platforms. These are not remotely interchangeable — always specify your drivetrain first.
- Hybrid eCVT transaxles are year-locked AND model-locked, with integrated MGUs. The P310/P314/L110 hybrid transaxles on RX450h, GS450h, NX300h, ES300h, and LS600h contain integrated motor-generator units (MGUs) tuned to that specific hybrid drive system. They will NOT run a non-hybrid vehicle, and even between hybrid variants the MGU calibration differs by year and model. Provide the donor VIN — no exceptions.
- AA80E 8-speed with 2UR-GSE V8: service history is critical. The AA80E on IS F, LS460, and LS600h flagships handles very high torque from the 2UR-GSE 5.0L V8. Service intervals and prior track use dramatically affect longevity. We verify service history through the donor VIN and reject units with any signs of thermal abuse or delayed fluid changes.
- 4WD Aisin longitudinal (A750F, A340F, AB60F): matched to the donor transfer case. The A750F (GX470/LX470), A340F (LS400 4WD/LX450), and AB60F (LX570) versions include a matched transfer case output. Sourcing without the correct transfer case leaves you with an unusable driveline. Always ship as matched sets.
Our ASE-certified technicians verify every one of these points against your VIN before any transmission ships.
