Why Buy a Used Lexus Engine from Auto Power Source
Lexus is Toyota's luxury brand, and that shared engineering is Lexus' single greatest strength. The 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 in your RX350 or ES350 is the same long-block that powers the Toyota Camry and Sienna. The 3UR-FE 5.7L V8 in an LX570 is the Tundra/Sequoia truck engine. That parts commonality means Lexus engines are among the most cost-effective luxury replacements on the used market. Where Lexus diverges from Toyota is in tuning, mounting hardware, and ECU calibration — the F-series 5.0L V8 (2UR-GSE) with titanium valves in an IS-F is Lexus-only.
Our 400+ Lexus engines all come from low-mileage donor vehicles, cataloged by VIN, and held in our climate-controlled warehouse. Every unit clears our six-step process: VIN-matched to donor and target (critical when the same displacement can span two different engine codes — e.g., LS460 1UR-FSE direct injection vs GX460 1UR-FE port injection), ASE-certified compression test, leak-down evaluation, run-stand noise & smoke verification, visual inspection, multi-angle photographs for your approval, and palletized freight. On hybrid units (RX450h, ES300h, CT200h, GS450h, LS600h) we verify hybrid battery/inverter compatibility by donor year.
You pay a fraction of Lexus dealer pricing for identical Toyota-Lexus engineering, ship free on a heavy-duty pallet to any address in the continental U.S., and get 30 days from delivery to return — no restocking fees. Up to a 3-year warranty covers you after install. Across 100,000+ Engines+Transmissions In Stock, our fitment-related return rate stays at 0%.

Lexus Engine Buying Guide
Five things to verify before buying a used Lexus engine:
Same displacement, different engines — verify engine code by VIN. The most common Lexus buying mistake: assuming a "4.6L V8" from an LS460 will fit a GX460. Both are 4.6L UR-series V8s but 1UR-FSE (LS460) uses D-4S direct injection while 1UR-FE (GX460) is port-injection only — different intake manifold, different fuel system, different ECU calibration. VIN 8th digit identifies the exact code.
Hybrid units are year-locked to their MG/inverter set. RX450h, ES300h, CT200h, GS450h, and LS600h all pair a specific Atkinson-cycle gas engine with a specific motor-generator, inverter, and traction battery pack. You cannot mix a 2015 RX450h engine into a 2018 chassis without also swapping the hybrid electronics. Confirm your donor year matches your vehicle exactly.
F-series 5.0L V8 (2UR-GSE) buyers: verify track history. IS-F, GS-F, RC-F, and LC500 are enthusiast-driven cars. Titanium valves, dry-sump on GS-F/RC-F, and 7,300 RPM redline mean these engines see hard use. We inspect every 2UR-GSE for bearing condition, oil-pressure history, and any signs of track abuse before listing.
Early 8AR-FTS 2.0T (2015-2019) had documented oil consumption issues. The Lexus 2.0T in NX200t/300, RX200t (later NX300), GS200t, and IS200t (first three model years) was subject to TSB and a Toyota-issued technical service bulletin for excessive oil consumption traced to piston rings. We check consumption and turbo condition on every 8AR-FTS unit before sale.
UR-series V8 timing chain rails wear past 150K miles. The 4.6L 1UR family and 5.7L 3UR (LS460, GX460, LX570) share a rear-mounted timing chain assembly, and chain rail wear is documented on high-mileage donors. Cold-start rattle and cam-correlation codes are the tell. We inspect every UR-series V8 in inventory and disclose findings.
Our ASE-certified technicians verify every one of these points against your VIN before any engine ships.

Practical guides from our team — how to install a used Lexus engine, what to check on delivery, and what really matters when buying online.
Up to 3 years, depending on the specific unit. The exact warranty term is listed on each product page.
What does ASE-tested mean?
ASE-certified technicians compression-test every cylinder and run leak-down evaluation on engines. Plus noise & smoke verification, visual inspection, and multi-angle photography before shipment.
How long until delivery?
Prep and ship time is 3-5 business days. Transit time is 2-3 business days after dispatch via freight carrier.
Can I see photos before I buy?
Yes. Multi-angle photos of the actual unit sent before payment.
Do I need my VIN?
Strongly recommended for exact-fit matching. Lexus engines vary significantly by trim, body style, and year.
What if I do not approve the photos?
Every dollar back. No restocking fees, no return freight charges.
Why cheaper than dealer new?
Used OEM from low-mileage donors. Same Lexus engineering, fraction of the cost.
Every Lexus engine you buy earns rewards. 10 orders (yours or referred) = $500 cash credit. Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers with discounts, priority support, and private inventory access.
Every Lexus engine we ship has been through these six steps:
1. VIN-Matching
We match the donor VIN to your VIN to confirm engine code, emissions calibration, and drivetrain fit.
2. Tested & Verified
ASE-certified technicians compression-test every cylinder and run leak-down evaluation on each engine. Transmissions are Shift-Tested through all gears.
3. Noise & Smoke Verification
Engines are run on the test stand to verify normal mechanical sound, clean exhaust, and no abnormal smoke — catches internal wear static pressure tests miss.
4. Visual Inspection
Every accessible component is inspected: turbos, manifolds, valve covers, accessories, sensor harnesses.
5. Photograph & Catalog
Multi-angle photos sent to you BEFORE we ship for your approval.
6. Palletize & Ship
Strapped on a heavy-duty wooden pallet, shipped via freight at no charge.
Our Photos-Before-Shipment Guarantee
Before any engine leaves our warehouse, we dismantle the donor unit and send you multi-angle photographs. You approve. If you do not approve, you get every dollar back — no questions, no restocking fees, no return freight charges. On top of 30-day money-back and up to 3-year warranty. Have a question about the guarantee or your specific order?
