2014 Used Ram Transmissions For Sale
49 verified 2014 Ram transmissions are on the shelf — 46 automatics and 3 manuals — which makes 2014 the deepest single year in our Ram transmission stock. The Truck 1500 Series leads it with 21 units, and this is the year those listings multiply by trim name rather than by hardware; behind them sit 19 Truck 3500 Series units split by gearbox manufacturer, 7 in the 2500 Series and 2 full-size Promaster vans. Every one is VIN-matched to your vehicle, shift-tested by ASE-certified technicians, photographed before shipment, and backed by up to a 3-year warranty plus 30-day money-back. Free freight nationwide.
Browse 2014 Ram Transmissions by Model
Pick your 2014 Ram model to see exact fitments in stock. Two things separate 2014 listings that otherwise read identically: on the 3.6L 1500, the trim and axle ratio the truck was built with, and on the heavy-duty 3500, which company built the gearbox. Neither is visible from the outside of the truck. Text us your VIN and a specialist confirms the match.
Why Buy a 2014 Ram Transmission from Auto Power Source
Every 2014 Ram transmission on this page was recovered from a low-mileage donor truck or van, cataloged against its donor VIN, and held in our climate-controlled warehouse pending sale. Nothing ships until it has cleared our six-step inspection — VIN-matching, shift testing, a road-and-shift-quality check, full visual inspection, multi-angle photography, and palletized freight.
Our ASE-certified technicians shift-test every gear and confirm clean engagement under load before a 2014 Ram transmission is cleared for sale. You pay a fraction of dealer-new pricing for the same Ram engineering, ship free on a heavy-duty pallet anywhere in the continental U.S., and get up to a 3-year warranty plus 30-day money-back. What makes 2014 worth slowing down for is how little of it you can read off the truck — eight of our 1500 listings differ by trim badge alone, the 3500 hides its gearbox manufacturer entirely, and three units in this collection are manuals. Text your VIN and we will confirm.
Your 2014 Ram Transmission Options: Compared
Most 2014 Ram owners face four real choices when their transmission fails:
| Option | Cost | Reliability | Warranty | Fitment Match |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Used OEM (this collection) | $$$ Best Value | High | Up to 3 years | VIN-matched |
| New OEM (dealer) | $$$$$ 2-4× more | High | Manufacturer | Exact |
| Aftermarket / Reman | $$$$ | Varies | 6-12 mo | May adapt |
| Junkyard | $ Cheapest | Unknown | None | DIY |
Tested used OEM hits the sweet spot — same Ram engineering as new, fraction of the cost.
2014 Ram Transmission Buying Guide
- On a 3.6L 1500, your trim is part of the part number. This is the 2014 mistake, and it is peculiar to this year. Our 4X2 3.6L 8-Speed Truck 1500 Series stock on the 3.21 Axle Ratio is cataloged as eight distinct listings — Tradesman, ST, SLT, Big Horn, Outdoorsman, Lone Star, Laramie and HFE — identical in year, displacement, gear count, drivetrain and axle ratio, separated only by trim. The 3.6L is then also built on a 3.55 axle in both 4X2 and 4X4. So on a 2014 1500 you need the trim and the axle ratio, and neither is reliably readable off the outside of the truck.
- On a 3500, find out who built your gearbox. Ram cataloged the same 2014 3500 with either an Aisin Seiki unit — AS69RC behind the 6.7L, AS66RC behind the 6.4L Chassis Cab — or a Chrysler-built one, 68RFE on the 6.7L and 66RFE on the 6.4L. Our 2014 stock holds the 6.7L Pickup in both makes and the 6.4L Chassis Cab in both makes: same year, same fuel, same drivetrain, different transmission. Nothing on the outside of the truck announces which one you have.
- Check whether yours is a manual — 2014 has three of them. Most of our 2014 stock is automatic, but not all of it. The 3500 is stocked as a manual in both drivetrains this year, MT 4X2 and MT 4X4 (both 6.7L), and the 2500 adds an MT 4X4 (6.7L, Diesel, VIN L, 8th Digit). Manual units share nothing with their AT siblings. On a diesel 2500 the 8th VIN digit identifies the engine the manual was paired to — read it before you order.
- On a 5.7L 1500, count the gears; on a 3.0L, read the axle. The 2014 5.7L Truck 1500 Series was built as a 6 Speed and as an 8 Speed in both 4X2 and 4X4, and our listings separate those by gear count alone. The four 3.0L (Diesel) 1500 units split a different way — 4X2 and 4X4, each on a 3.55 or a 3.92 Axle Ratio — so displacement by itself will not narrow either one down.
- Separate Pickup from Chassis Cab, and check for PTO. On the 3500 the Pickup and the Chassis Cab are cataloged apart, and the 6.4L Aisin Seiki AS66RC Chassis Cabs are built either with PTO (Left Side) or W/O PTO. PTO housings are not interchangeable — a PTO case will not bolt into a truck that never had one, and a plain case cannot be adapted to drive one.
Our ASE-certified technicians verify every one of these points against your VIN before any transmission ships.
