This one is specific to 2021: the 8HP75 / Opt DFR units are cataloged by build date — Thru 04/09/21 and From 04/10/21 — so two trucks carrying the same Opt code can still take different units depending on when they were built. The build date is printed on the door-jamb sticker.

Count the lug holes on a 1500. 2021 is a split model year: Ram sold the outgoing Classic Style 1500 (5 Lug Wheel) alongside the New Style 1500 (6 Lug Wheel). They are different trucks and take different transmissions — the single most common 2021 ordering mistake.
