2011 Used Nissan Transmissions For Sale

Every 2011 Nissan transmission we hold, sorted by the hardware that actually fits. 2011 is a CVT-heavy year: four different JATCO CVTs sit alongside four geared automatics, and a CVT never swaps for a conventional automatic even in the same model with the same engine. Text your VIN and we confirm the exact unit in writing.

Why Buy a 2011 Nissan Transmission from Auto Power Source

Every 2011 Nissan transmission on this page is a used OEM unit pulled from a low-mileage donor vehicle, cleaned, inspected and shift-tested on a bench before it is listed. We do not list a unit we have not had in our hands.

The 2011 Nissan range is the point in the line where the CVT stopped being the small-car option and became the default. Four JATCO CVT families were in service in that one model year: the JF011E behind the 2.5L Altima, Rogue and Sentra; the heavier JF010E M-CVT behind the V6 Maxima, Murano, Quest and 3.5L Altima; the CVT7 RE0F11A in the Juke, with an auxiliary gearbox the larger units do not carry; and the RE0F08B in the Versa and Cube. None of the four interchange, and none of them interchange with a geared automatic.

The geared side of 2011 is just as split. The RE5R05A 5-speed carries the body-on-frame trucks and SUVs, the RE7R01A 7-speed is 370Z-only, and the RE4F03B 4-speed is the Versa C11 unit buyers most often confuse with the Versa CVT. We match on your VIN rather than the model name, which is where those mix-ups happen.

Each unit ships with our standard warranty, free commercial-address freight in the lower 48 and a 30-day money-back return window. Call 1-877-313-8995, text +1-307-441-5554 or email info@autopowersource.com and a technician, not a call-centre agent, answers.

Your 2011 Nissan Transmission Options: Compared

Most 2011 Nissan owners face four real choices when the transmission fails:

← Swipe sideways to see all columns →
Option Cost Reliability Warranty Fitment Match
Used OEM (this collection) $$$ Best Value High — tested Included VIN-matched
New OEM (dealer) $$$$$ 2-4× more High Manufacturer Exact
Rebuilt / Reman $$$$ Varies 6-12 mo May adapt
Junkyard $ Cheapest Unknown None DIY

Tested used OEM hits the sweet spot — same engineering as new, fraction of the cost.

2011 Nissan Transmission Buying Guide

5 things to verify before buying a used 2011 Nissan transmission:

  1. CVT or conventional automatic? The first and most expensive question on a 2011 Nissan. A JATCO CVT and a geared automatic are physically different units with different bellhousings, mounts, coolers and control software. They never interchange, not even in the same model year behind the same engine. Decide which your car has before you look at a single listing.
  2. Which CVT family? If it is a CVT, there are four in 2011. The 2.5L Altima, Rogue and Sentra use the JF011E. The V6 Maxima, Murano, Quest and 3.5L Altima use the heavier JF010E M-CVT. The Juke uses the CVT7 RE0F11A with its auxiliary gearbox. The Versa 1.8L CVT and the Cube use the RE0F08B. Swapping across those four is a return, not a repair.
  3. Drivetrain, cab and tow package. The RE5R05A is split by far more than 4x2 versus 4x4. Frontier splits by cab, Pathfinder by whether the transfer case has the AUTO position, Armada and Titan by the Big Tow package and by column versus floor shift, and the Rogue CVT by a tow package that adds four water-cooled lines. Those splits change the part.
  4. Build-date and emissions splits. 2011 has several mid-year changes. The Maxima CVT splits thru 4/11 and from 5/11, the 370Z automatic splits thru 11/10 and from 12/10, the 2.5L Altima CVT splits Federal and California emissions, and the Versa 4-speed splits on ABS. A unit from the wrong side of one of those dates will bolt up and still not behave.
  5. Confirm the match with your own VIN before you order. Your VIN settles the transmission code, drivetrain and build split in one step. Text it to +1-307-441-5554 and we will confirm in writing exactly which unit fits your vehicle before you pay.

Our ASE-certified technicians verify every one of these points against your VIN before any unit ships.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I put a conventional automatic in a 2011 Nissan that came with a CVT?
No. A JATCO CVT and a geared automatic differ in case, bellhousing, mounts, cooler circuit, valve body and the software that commands them. There is no 2011 Nissan where the two interchange, in either direction. If your car left the factory with a CVT it needs a CVT, and specifically the right one of the four 2011 families.
How do I tell which 2011 CVT my car has?
By model and engine. JF011E: Altima 2.5L, Rogue, Sentra 2.0L. JF010E M-CVT: Maxima, Murano, Quest, Altima 3.5L. CVT7 RE0F11A: Juke. RE0F08B: Versa 1.8L CVT and Cube. Safest route: text your VIN to +1-307-441-5554 and we read it off the build record instead of guessing from the badge.
What fits a 2011 Frontier?
The automatic Frontier uses the RE5R05A 5-speed behind both the 2.5L four and the 4.0L V6. The manual is a 5-speed behind the four, a 6-speed behind the V6. V6 automatics then split by cab (King or Crew), by 4x2 or 4x4 and by the off-road package, so the nameplate alone does not identify the unit.
Is the 2011 Pathfinder a CVT?
No. The 2011 Pathfinder is the body-on-frame R51 on the RE5R05A 5-speed automatic. Pathfinder did not move to a CVT until the 2013 R52, so when shopping across years check the generation, not just the nameplate.
What is the difference between the Versa 4-speed and the Versa CVT?
They are unrelated units. The RE4F03B is a geared 4-speed used on the 1.6L and 1.8L Versa, split again on whether the car has ABS. The RE0F08B is a JATCO CVT. The Versa also came with a 5-speed and a 6-speed manual in 2011, so one nameplate covers four different transmissions in a single model year.
Which 370Z transmission do you stock?
Both. The automatic is the RE7R01A 7-speed, split between Coupe and Roadster and on a 12/10 build change. The manual is the 6-speed, in 19-inch wheel Sport and Nismo variants. The two share nothing, so the car is matched on the VIN.
What warranty comes with a 2011 Nissan transmission?
Every unit ships with our standard 6-month parts warranty as a minimum, with longer terms available at checkout. Freight to a commercial address in the lower 48 is free, and there is a 30-day money-back return window.
How fast can you confirm a fit and ship?
Text your VIN to +1-307-441-5554 or call 1-877-313-8995 and we normally confirm the matching unit the same business day. Most in-stock 2011 Nissan transmissions leave the yard within one to two business days of release.
