This engine already carries a 6 month parts warranty. Buy a longer term any time before it ships. The term you buy is your total coverage from the date of purchase - it replaces the standard 6 month; it is not added on top of it.

What changes
One thing only: how long the cover lasts. Same parts-only replacement cover, same covered components (the internally lubricated and internally driven parts of the unit), coverage still begins on the date of purchase.
What does not change
Still parts-only - labor, towing, rental, storage and fluids stay excluded unless labor coverage is purchased. Bolt-on accessories remain courtesy items outside the warranty. Heat tabs still govern, and the water pump must still be replaced at installation.

Cover the labor, not just the part
Your warranty replaces the unit. It does not pay your shop. Labor coverage is a separate plan you buy once, before the engine ships - you choose the amount, so it matches the job your shop has quoted. What it covers
The same boundary as the warranty itself: the internal failure of the unit we supplied - the head gasket is the one gasket included. Bolt-ons, sensors, belts, hoses, brackets and manifolds stay outside it. The figure you pick is a fixed cap paid once against a documented labor invoice - not an hourly rate, not open-ended.
What you have to prove
A diagnostic from a certified shop naming the failure, hard readings that support it, photos or video of the fault, and your installation invoice showing our pre-installation checklist was followed. Diagnostic time is your cost on the day; if the claim is approved it is credited back out of the amount you are covered for.
