XJ and XJR (2010–2019), XK and XKR (2010–2015), XF and XFR (2010–2015), F-Type R and SVR (2014–2019). Our deepest Jaguar line — the supercharged 5.0L, listed by VIN letter because the 470, 510, 550 and 575 hp builds are coded separately, by FFV or w/o, and on the 2019 F-Type by GEN1 or GEN2.

AJ133 5.0L Naturally Aspirated V8 (VIN B, 8th digit)

XJ and XJ8 (2010–2013), XK (2010–2015), XF and XFR (2010–2012). The naturally aspirated 5.0L of the base cars, listed w/o supercharged and by VIN B (8th digit). It shares its block with the supercharged engine but not its intake, pistons, or controller — the two do not interchange.

AJ126 3.0L Supercharged V6 (VIN 7 / D / F / Z / X / V, 8th digit)

XJ and XF (2013–2019), F-Type (2014–2020), F-Pace (2017–2020), XF Sportbrake (2018–2019). The supercharged V6 that replaced the base V8 — listed by VIN letter, by RWD or AWD, and by FFV or w/o, because the all-wheel-drive unit carries a different sump and front cover.

AJ-V8 4.2L (VIN B / C / U / V, 8th digit)

XJ8, XJR, Vanden Plas and Super V8 (2004–2009), XK8 and XKR (2003–2009), S-Type 4.2 and S-Type R (2003–2008). The second-generation AJ-V8 — listed by supercharged option or w/o, by VIN B or C on the XJ and XK, VIN U or V on the S-Type, and by California emissions where Jaguar split the build.

AJ-V8 4.0L (VIN B / C / D / P, 8th digit; VIN 0 / 8, 7th digit)

XJ8, XJR and Vanden Plas (1998–2003), XK8 and XKR (1997–2002), S-Type 4.0 (2000–2002). The first AJ-V8 — listed by supercharged option or w/o, by VIN letter and its digit (7th through 1999, 8th from 2000), and on the 2001 cars by thru or from engine ID 0108122359 / 0108130000, the Nikasil-to-steel liner break.

AJ6 and AJ16 4.0L Inline-6 (VIN 2 / 7 / 9 / 1, 7th digit)

XJ6 and Vanden Plas (1990–1997), XJS 4.0 (1992–1996), XJR 4.0 supercharged (1995–1997). The straight-six of the XJ40 and X300 cars — listed by VIN 2, 7 or 9 (7th digit) because Jaguar changed the injection and emissions calibration across the run, and by VIN 1 on the supercharged XJR.

2.0L Ingenium Four (VIN X gasoline / VIN N diesel, 8th digit)

XE and XF (2017–2020), F-Pace (2018–2020), E-Pace (2018–2020), XF Sportbrake (2019). The current turbocharged four — listed by VIN X (gasoline) or VIN N (diesel) in the 8th digit, by VIN F or G in the 7th because the 247 hp and 296 hp builds carry different turbos and pistons, and by RWD or AWD.

AJ-V6 3.0L and 2.5L (VIN A / T / C, 8th digit)

S-Type 3.0 (2000–2008), X-Type 3.0 and 2.5 (2002–2008). The Ford-derived Duratec-based V6 of the entry cars — listed by VIN A, T or C (8th digit) because Jaguar re-coded the engine at the 2005 controller change, and by displacement on the X-Type where the 2.5 and 3.0 share a block but not pistons or heads.

XF 2.0L Turbo Four (VIN S, 8th digit)

XF and XFR-S (2013–2015). The Ford EcoBoost-based 2.0L turbo of the first four-cylinder XF — listed by VIN S (8th digit). It is a different engine from the 2017-on Ingenium 2.0 and does not interchange with it; the year on the listing settles which one you need.
